Books for 2016!

So in this post I thought I would talk about all the books, as of now, that I am excited about and so jazzed to read.

  1. Strong Looks Better Naked by Khloe Kardashian

So basically I am a die hard KUWTK (aka Keeping Up with the Kardashians) viewer. Also Khloe is probably my favorite out of all of the Kardashian-Jenner family.

Why I am so excited to read this book during 2016 is because it is all about Khloe’s journey to her current self. She always struggled with the paparazzi and media about her weight and her looks etc.

Here is a little summary of the book: “Khloé Kardashian shares her secrets for finding strength of body, mind, and heart with revelatory stories of her own struggles with weight, relationships, and her self-image.

In a culture that worships skinny, Kardashian writes with passion about the power of strength: a strong body lays the foundation for a strong mind, which leads to strength of heart, character, and ultimately spirit. Filled with practical advice, recipes, and compelling personal anecdotes, Strong Looks Better Naked is an inspiring meditation on how to create strength, confidence, and true beauty in every facet of your life.”

^ This makes me SO excited.

2. The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

As I mentioned in my last post that you can read here, that one of my new resolutions or goals for this year. I want to declutter my life basically. I find organization amazing and makes your life so much more prosperous.

Amazon summarized the book as, “Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you’ll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo’s clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list).

With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house “spark joy” (and which don’t), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo’s newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home—and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.” <<< That sounds perfect for me.

3.  The Soul Searcher’s Handbook: A Modern Girls Guide to the New Age World by Emma Mildon

Marissa Lace on Youtube is creating a new series called “the year of you” and picked up this book! Automatically I was intrigued to read and immediately added it to my Amazon wish list!

On Amazon, the summary for this book is, “From aromatherapy and numerology to healing crystals and meditation, this fun and sassy guide to everything body-mind-spirit defines New Age practices for a new generation.

What type of crystal should I put in my car for a road trip? Should I Feng Shui my smart phone screen? In this illuminating introduction for the modern-day soul searcher, Emma Mildon shines light on everything your mom didn’t teach you about neo–New Age practices.

With something for every type of spiritual seeker, The Soul Searcher’s Handbook offers easy tips, tricks, and how-tos for incorporating everything from dreamology and astrology to mysticism and alternative healing into your everyday life. This handbook is your #1 go-to guide—handy, accessible, entertaining, and packed with all the wisdom you need in one place.

Your destiny, gifted to you at birth, is waiting. So plug into the universe, dig your toes into the soil of Mother Earth, and open your soul to your full potential. Regardless of what you’re seeking, The Soul Searcher’s Handbook is your awakening to a more fulfilling and soulful life.”

So intriguing right?! I’m super into learning more about aromatherapy, crystals, meditation etc. So this book is perfect!

4. Adventures for Your Soul: 21 Ways to Transform Your Habits and Reach Your Full Potential by Shannon Kaiser

Basically just read the summary below that I found on Amazon and you will honestly understand right away why I think this book will be perfect for me and my new self in 2016.

“Sometimes the one thing you need to make a change is to see things from a fresh perspective. Discover twenty-one innovative emotional explorations to boldly confront the habits that are holding you back in this breakthrough guide that provides the tools you need to fearlessly embrace your innermost desires.

5. Light is the New Black: A Guide to Answering Your Soul’s Callings and Working Your light by Rebecca Campbell

Honestly this book though. Here is a little summary: “Light Is the New Black is a guidebook for a new breed of women who are here to be bright lights in the world – modern-day lightworkers, who agreed to be here at this time in history. In order to thrive in this new age, everything we do must be an authentic expression of who we truly are. Light Is the New Black will guide you back home to the callings of your soul, so you can light up the world with your presence.

Rebecca Campbell had her first awakening when she was a teenager, but without anyone to guide her, she ignored her soul’s callings and dimmed her light in order to fit in. Then, just before her 30th birthday, the life she had so consciously created began to crumble around her. It was as if the Universe turned off all the lights, so she had no choice but to rediscover her own. In this book, Rebecca shares her own journey, alongside practical tools to help you reconnect with the core of your being, and channeled messages from the Universe. Once you rediscover what you already know at soul level, you can offer the world something that only you can give.”

I read some of the reviews for this and I am SOLD. I need this.

Let me know what your picks for books in the new year would be!
