Ouai Obsessed

Ouai

Pronounced “way”

“Ouai means yes, in that casual, Parisian way. It’s about saying yes to real hair for real life. And to looking chic, no matter how many followers you have.”

After talking about my hair in my last post, I thought it was only fitting to talk about the shampoo and conditioner that I am using right now. (If you haven’t read my last post, I highly recommend to learn more about my hair routine.)

Anyway I thought today that I would talk about maybe some pros and cons of the Ouai shampoo and conditioner, along with other Ouai products that I have tried!

So I will be honest and say that I love the shampoo and conditioner (just in case I didn’t make the uber clear in my last post). I have only tried the clean range, however I just need my shampoo and conditioner that I use on the weekly to clean my hair. Now we are on the same page.

BUT I have tried other products from Ouai that I can give you some thoughts on! All of the Ouai products I have tried are the Clean shampoo and conditioner (obvi), the wave spray, the finishing creme, the treatment masque and the texturizing hairspray.

Now all Ouai products are made with the Ouai Smart Technology Complex™ which targets the most damaged areas of the hair to repair the hair cuticle, replenish moisture, and provide protection.

Just a little note really quick:

Ouai products are paraben free and are not tested on animals.

With that, lets start with the Shampoo and Conditioner: The shampoo I am not a huge fan of SMELL wise. I want to make that clear that I am just not a fan of the smelllllll. I love the product and how it works but the smell of the shampoo in particular reminds me of johnson baby shampoo. The no tears baby shampoo. I bet you all have heard of it. The conditioner on the other hand smells great with the Ouai scent. I will note that when you use the shampoo and then the conditioner, after you’re done with your hair, you can not smell the shampoo. So it really isn’t a problem in the long run. And if you are curious the Ouai shampoo and conditioner does protect color.

Treatment Masque time: I love this masque. It is quick, effective, and leaves my hair feeling brand new. They come in these perfect portioned packets so you aren’t dipping your whole hand into a jar and maybe taking too much or too little and since you’re in the shower then maybe some water gets in it. Basically it is gross and these packets are perfect. If you don’t want to dive all in and pay $32  for the box of masques, they have a smaller option coming in at $14 which I highly recommend. Then you can see the results, feel the results, fall in love and finally commit to the bigger size.

Lets move on over to the Wave Spray: This summer, like all summers, I was obsessed with beachy waves that look effortless, natural and help you bring out your inner mermaid vibes. This wave spray isn’t like other wave sprays because it has NO SALT in it. I know… you’re probably asking, “Is it really even a wave spray?”. The answer: yes it is. It is infused with rice protein to add hold and memory for that “just got out of the ocean and my hair dried perfectly” look. This spray is a staple product for summer and even all year around. I personally love using just a couple sprays of this before I curl my hair (sometimes) because it just seems to hold the curl better. I prefer this method when I am using a larger barreled curling wand.

The Texturizing Hairspray: Jen Atkin herself explains this products as if, “dry shampoo and hair spray had a baby”. This hairspray is ultra-lightweight and builds incredible volume and texture. I love texture and volume so this is the ultimate perfect product. Now if you are looking for a ultra-strong hold hairspray than this may not be for you, but this product is.

Lastly we need to talk about the Finishing Creme: I like this product. I will admit that maybe I do not know how to use it to its fullest potential YET but I am still practicing and learning. I love the smell, just like all of the other products. (They all have the same Ouai fragrance.)

If you are maybe not wanting to spend a ton of money onscreen-shot-2016-10-13-at-7-38-04-pm hair products you have never tried, might not like and maybe won’t even use that much, try this kit (pictured to the right). It is kind of a steal at $25 but worth $40. This kit is really a nice way to try out some Ouai products without breaking the bank or going crazy. In the box are the products I talked about so far in this post, the texturizing hair spray, the finishing creme and the wave spray. Also included are some super chic, white hair ties.

If you try Ouai or have tried Ouai, let me know what you think! I love finding new ride or die hair products!

Also make sure to shop below the products mentioned in this post!

xx, Chandler
