New York City during the Christmas season is different than any other time during the year. There are certain things to do and see that aren’t there during the rest of the year.
Also! So many of these stops are right by each other! The Plaza is legit right across the street from St. Patricks cathedral and just a block or two away from the tree, ice rink, ornaments, light show and just down the road is the plaza and other holiday window displays.
1.The Tree in Rockafeller
I tried to go for the classic Home Alone 2 shot where Kevin is looking at the tree after defeating the bad guys for a 2nd time. It really is crazy beautiful and huge.
2. The Ice Rink at Rockefeller
I didn’t personally want to go ice skating, just because I lack balance, but if I did this would be the rink to do it. Right at the bottom of the tree and with the lights and nutcrackers around you. A stunning setting.
3. The Ornaments in Midtown
These ornaments and lights and huge and gorgeous. They make me so excited for Christmas right around the corner!
4. The Saks light show and window displays
The theme changes every year. 2016 was 1000 delights and was kind of a mix of nutcracker, candy land, princess. Plus the light show was crazy amazing. I watched it definitely more than a few times.
5. The Lotte Plaza Hotel
I felt like I was attending the Gossip Girl crew brunch in the first few episodes. The Plaza hotel has a gorgeous courtyard and is a must see.
6. Other window displays on 5th Ave
Some of my favorites include, Harry Winston, Henri Bendel, Tiffanys, Cartier,
7. The Plaza Hotel
Eloise at Christmastime and Home Alone 2 are classic Christmas movies that were shot at the amazing Plaza hotel. Plus, it is a gorgeous hotel inside and out.
8. St. Patricks Cathedral
Walking in there was a choir singing Christmas songs which traveled through the cathedral beautifully.
This place is decked out for around 9 months of the year, from late summer to early summer, and is a must see.
10. Chelsea Market
Such a great holiday indoor market! So many gift options, vendors, places to eat and places to drink.
I hope you check it out!
