On Sunday I went to the mall with my sister. A deadly combination. We both love everything makeup, skincare and overall beauty. In our mall Sephora and Nordstrom are super close together… so it basically means trouble.
So first we went to Sephora…
And I walked out with a few things:
It Cosmetics CC Cream: If you’ve been reading SB for a while you would probably know that I lived in and swore by the It Cosmetics CC Cream + Illumination ALL last summer. So I thought it was time to try the original formula. And with the liquid highlighter I bought also on this trip underneath it, I thought it would basically be what I used last summer but maybe even better? who knows. This specific CC cream is a little too dark on me at the moment, just because my fair skin hasn’t seen much sun, so I am going to start the summer mixing my Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in light to 1. sheer it out and 2. make it a tad lighter. (Check out my rep page to save $$$ on Glossier!)
Milk Makeup Mini Duo: So this duo includes a mini Matte Bronzer in baked and Liquid Strobe Highlighter in Beam. I am super interested in Milk Makeup products so I thought this would be the perfect way to sample some of the products out. I am also dying to try their toner stick!!! Unfortunately I couldn’t find this set online so you will have to check out your local Sephora to find it!
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops: I initially went in for the Sephora Luminizing Drops in morning light which I love especially for the price, but ended up walking away with the Marc Jacobs one based on the quality of product basically. When comparing the two side by side, the Marc Jacobs one was more pigmented and had a very even spread of pigment where the Sephora brand one was lacking. I just decided to try the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops because I love that glow and this seems like it would be perfect for a summertime glow.
The Ouai “Morning After Kit”: This adorable kit included a little Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam, a little Ouai Finishing Creme and their brand new Ouai Rose Hair and Body Oil which is coming out on May 11th! I have wanted to try out the foam and the oil in particular. I did try the Rose Hair and Body Oil out because I wanted to know the scent and I love it. It smells of roses, but not just straight up rose, bergamot, lychee and white musk. So I would say more of a sophisticated rose scent that can work for even the people that don’t like rose. If you want this set, go to your local Sephora to get one!
And now let’s talk about what I found at Nordstrom…
Jo Malone Star Magnolia: This scent is a limited edition Jo Malone scent and is just gorgeously floral. Some of the notes include, star magnolia, lemon, and sandalwood. The two scents that I got from Jo Malone are just so different but are both individually beautiful. The lady at the counter said to try layering them!
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey: This is the perfect perfume for summer. It is sweet, but not overly “Pink Sugar” brand sweet that swept all middle school girls to candy land years ago. It has scents of nectarines, cassis, plum, blackcurrant, peach and acacia honey.
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural: One of my go-to ride or die powders is the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in the color light. It just is so luminous but still keeps my skin looking less oily and more glowy. Since I am not the hugest fan of a super matte face, this works wonders for me and I haven’t found something like it at this pricepoint. Another similar product but more expensive is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Compact.
Birkenstocks: Yes I know I got a pair of Birkenstocks. They are just so comfortable and so practical! I got a pair in white, and I only decided to splurge on them because I had a gift card for a while! They honestly are everything I could ask for when I run errands quickly or walk around for a while.
Get ready for more posts! I have a few things coming in that I am excited to share with you!
