I have been so obsessed with Milk Makeup. Everything Milk Makeup.
It started out with the easy going nature of their line, and after reading reviews on reviews, I decided to pick up a few products to test out a little bit of the line.
So the product that really sparked this interest was the Matcha Toner. First, I had never heard of a stick toner before and second, I had no idea how a stick toner would work. The traditional toner is usually a liquid that you have to use with a cotton pad. But a stick…? It just didn’t make sense. So how this product works, (yes, I did my research) is that it has a special gel – stick formula that gently glides onto the skin which provides a cool, refreshing feeling. Matcha green tea detoxifies your skin and protects it as well. Also in the product is kombucha and witch hazel which help tighten pores and absorb extra oil. The calming ingredients is an organic cactus elixir which calms and hydrates your skin.
I just think this product is genius. It is TSA friendly, easy to use, (you just roll it on your face and then pat in with your fingers) which make it the perfect product for someone who is always on the go or someone who is a skin care lover.
Next Up: One of my favorites from Milk Makeup but I probably use it differently than you would expect. Milk Makeup’s Cooling Water Stick. This is a soothing sea water and firming caffeine gel stick that revives your skin with a light by hydrating moisture. So this product is infused with rich marine minerals. It is so refreshing and cool to the touch. I love the cooling properties to much. And it provides instant, light hydration that lasts all day. It has caffeine, which supports micro-circulation to give skin an energized and glowing appearance and feel. My favorite use for this product is to put it under my eyes! It just makes my eyes feel awake, refreshed and ready for makeup.
What I have been wearing when I’m not wearing my Generation G: Milk Makeup’s Lip Color in C.R.E.A.M. This is a lipstick that is hydrating, soft, pigmented and stays put. Seriously so pigmented though. It has 30% pigmentation which provides that “one swipe” lip color application. It is formulated with shea butter, coconut oils, and grapefruit peel oils, which helps soften lips and hydrates your lips as well so you don’t end up with nasty crusty lips. Another fun little formulation tid-bit: It feels like second skin because of the “Milk Melt” technology which matches the product with your body temperature. This helps it feel super natural and comfortable. I will say that I enjoy my Glossier Generation G a little more, only because when this wears off my lips you can tell more than with the Generation G. I like how lightly pigmented the Generation G is because I don’t have time while working to check my makeup and see how my lipstick is ALL DAY.
Lastly the Milk Makeup Hero Salve. I love this for my cuticles and any dry patches. I love the Glossier Balm Dotcom for my lips. I just wanted to put that out there. The Hero Salve is formulated with a bunch of moisturizing oils and shea butter to soothe and hydrate. This isn’t super special but it is a good staple salve to have. I really believe everyone should have a universal salve. I personally love the Glossier Coconut Balm Dotcom as a universal salve just because the smell is amazing.
Next up on my Milk Makeup “to purchase” list:
- The Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint in Fair (the only thing is I’ve heard this oxidizes like crazy so I’m not sure how I feel about that…)
- The Milk Makeup Hydrating Oil Stick
- The Milk Makeup Bronzer in Baked (I will need a full size after I run out of the mini!)
- The Milk Makeup Highlighter in Lit (maybe a little too dark for me if I pile it on, but if I blend it out it might be money)
- The Milk Makeup Eye Pigment in Hotel Lobby (champagne) and Gig (bronze) (these things are crazy pigmented and stay put!)
Do you love or hate any products from Milk Makeup?
