The Ordinary is just one of those brands that makes sense. They have good products that aren’t marked up in price, so they are accessible to pretty much everyone. Their stuff works and it doesn’t break your heart if a product doesn’t work for you like an expensive product does.
AND what is even better about them is that they ship to Italy. That is the way to my heart at the moment. Being in Italy, there aren’t handfuls of options in makeup, hair, or skincare at Sephora, the drugstore (I still haven’t found an equivalent to Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid), or at departments stores. So why not pick up a favorite, Rosehip Seed Oil, and a few new products to try. Check out this post to read more about Rosehip Seed Oil and other products I’ve tried from The Ordinary.
As for the products I picked up this time around…
100% Plant-Derived Squalane: A product that has been new into Sephora and winning a place on customer’s top shelves is the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil ($72). Biossance also has a 100% Squalane Oil ($58). This brand sparked my curiosity about Sqalane, the benefits, what it is, etc. and pushed me to try a much more affordable version that will give me a glimpse of the world of squalane oil. I do like The Ordinary Squalane oil since this oil is super light and moisturizing, but I love the intense hydration of The Ordinary Rose Hip Seed oil. I love the feeling of oil on my face (at night) since I can almost feel it doing good things. Weird but just something that I love and why I prefer Rosehip over Squalane.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 2%: This product, from what I’ve heard, is super similar to Glossier Super Pure in formula (since their ingredients are niacinamide and zinc). In texture and feel, not similar at all. After trying this out I do prefer the Glossier Super Pure. It has a more watery consistency were you don’t feel it on your skin. The Ordinary one is more silky and you feel it as a layer on your skin. After applying The Ordinary one, I lightly rubbed oil on my face and the Niacinamide serum started balling up and coming up off my face.
The Serum Foundation: These foundations took the world by storm over the summer and I finally was able to get my hands on one! The color range is a little interesting and I was nervous to buy one since I heard that they oxidized. I picked up 1.0NS which is Very Fair Neutral with Silver Highlights. As of now, still coming off the summer and any color I have, this shade was too light but the coverage was light and buildable and left my skin able to breathe.
Next up to purchase: Their Mandelic Acid 10% Solution, which is coming soon!
