A Growing line of bee based hair products by Negin Mirsalehi (who has the most luscious long hair ever).
Ever since I watched this video, I wanted the Gisou honey infused hair oil. The only thing that held me back was the price. $84 is kind of steep for a hair product that I have never touched, felt, or tried before.
BUT classic me still lusting over the product, I followed Negin’s instagram, the Gisou instagram and began to learn more about the benefits of honey for the hair. So maybe, just maybe, I could justify a product like this.
The color of the product, Gold. Pure Gold. Just like what this hair oil does for your hair. Pure Magic.
Honey is the key ingredient in this product and is the basis of the whole line of products (that currently consists of the honey infused hair oil, propolis wave spray and heat protectant). This idea of honey being this amazing miracle product came from her family being beekeepers generation after generation.
Honey has a natural blend of minerals, contains many vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants. From all of these elements, honey is like fabulous healthy food for your hair. It nourishes it and replenishes what it is depleted of.
Honey also is a natural humectant because of its moisture attracting and retaining properties. And so most external factors, (weather, sun, wind, heat, water, brushing and other damages done to hair) can be helped, bettered or completely fixed by rebalancing the moisture in your hair and also replenishing your hair with what it is lacking.
It makes total sense.
Minerals in honey include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. So all basic vitamins and more that you as a human being need and what your hair should have as well.
But how does it feel? does it work? is it worth the money? is there only one way to use it? multiple? does it leave your hair greasy and oily? is it sticky?
Let’s talk about it.
Does it work?
YES. 1000 times yes! My hair has taken so much heat over the years and this is helping it feel like I don’t heat style it as much.
Is it worth the money?
Yes. If you value your hair, it is a necessity. If you heat style your hair, this will add shine, moisture and make your locks look better than before one use at a time.
But how does it feel? does it leave your hair greasy and oily? is it sticky?
This surprised me but it is not sticky at all! It is light, smooth and not heavy like a traditional oil. Silky smooth and light but I can tell that it truly is hydrating my hair and working.
Is there only one way to use it? multiple?
In the package there is a book listing multiple ways Negin uses the oil. She uses it by adding it into a hair mask, as an overnight treatment, before she styles and also as a finisher. All work and my favorite is as a finisher to styling and an overnight mask.
If you can’t tell by now, I love this stuff. That is why I knew I had to get it the moment I found it in store at Babassu in Amsterdam. (Happy early early birthday to me?) I am also obsessed with Gisou and Negin and once I get back to the states I am going to get my hands on the propolis infused wave spray and heat protectant.
Let me know what hair products are on your top shelf!
