Fall Skincare Routine

If you didn’t know already, my skin has been giving me a run for my money. It has been all over the place with breaking out, being as dry as a raisin, discoloration and scars are my new facial birthmark (it’s getting there), and then it will slowly clear up, and the cycle will start over again.

So with my skincare I have tried to simplify it as much as possible to just let me skin know that there is now a routine.

In the morning usually I just take a cotton pad and use my Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water because I’m too lazy to wash my face, and it is quicker. On the mornings I don’t have class early or the weekends I will sometimes wash my face especially if I used something heavier like oil to hydrate. Will get there later, but I like using Bioderma for the most part.

Next I use my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo treatment that helps keep my acne at bay and helps get rid of it when my face is breaking out. I use this mainly at night but sometimes in the day time when I feel some spots coming on.

Right now since it is colder in Florence, Italy, I am using my Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich both morning and night. I apply less in the morning and more at night. I have oily skin so I don’t need as much in the daytime and like layering all of the goodness on at night.

My last skincare step in the morning is my Glossier Invisible Shield Sunscreen. I apply 2-3 pumps and pat all over my skin including my eyelids to protect my face from rays and environmental damage. It also gives you a very hydrated looking base. Perfect for makeup.

Fast forward to night time… I take off my makeup with my Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water.
Usually I use 2-3 cotton pads with Bioderma on it to really take off my makeup.

If I layered on the mascara or have a good amount of eye makeup on (not most days) I will use my The Ordinary Rosehip Seed Oil to gently remove my mascara. I take a while to take this off as I don’t want to take out any eyelashes in the process. Plus this really ensures I get it all off.

After this step I go in with my trusty Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser to take off the mascara oil all over my eyes and any last makeup traces on my face. This is my favorite face cleanser. So conditioning yet cleansing.

2-3 times a week I like to exfoliate my face. It helps take off the gross skin on my face. So I use either the Tatcha Deep Polish Rice Enzyme Powder or the Lush Ocean Salt. Usually I will use Lush’s Ocean Salt in the shower and just really give a more abrasive scrub to my face. And on the other days I use the Tatcha Rice Powder one to give a more gentle exfoliation. I love both.

This is when I will put on my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo again, let it sink in and then go in for my moisturizer. Again I use the Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich. I think this is perfect for night time.

LASTLY some days, a couple times a week, I will warm up some of The Ordinary Rosehip Seed Oil between my fingers and pat this on my skin especially where I am dryer.

Simple, with a couple multi-use products that I love. And currently it is working for me and helping my skin tremendously.

xx, Chandler
