Overtime + Jetlag | Summer Fridays Review

Summer Fridays basically launched and went viral for their vibe and product all in the same day. The brand was founded by influencer + blogger goddess Marianna Hewitt and fellow blogger + influencer, Lauren Gores.

Let’s start with the mask that was the first product of Summer Fridays… The Jet Lag Mask.

I just want to say that I love the Jet Lag Mask a lot. Like a lot a lot. It is rich, hydrating, but not overwhelmingly heavy for combo/oily skin. I always wear this as an overnight mask and love mixing it with my Leo Oil and occasionally my Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich. Thanks to Dena (leowithcancer) I love mixing products together to get the best of everything when I sleep.

The Jetlag mask is rich in vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants, and gently exfoliating extracts to give you that fresh skin, dewy, hydrated plump skin look. (I need this especially when I wake up.) Specifically it has Vitamin E (fighting free radicals), Vitamin C (brighten), Arginine that is an amino acid and Sodium Hyaluronate which boosts skin’s moisture content, soothes, and helps the skin retain moisture.

Another benefit I find when I use this product is it is a dry skin fixer and it lowers the redness of my irritated or stressed out skin. Literally when I’m breaking out this is my go to since I will wake up with more calm, less red and irritated skin. Also even if I’m not using this on my whole face, I will put a little under my eyes to just to give them that “hey I slept for 7 hours instead of 5 hours last night” look and hydrates my under eye area perfectly.

Now for the Overtime Mask. I love pumpkin masks and this one is completely Fall. It has the color, the smell of fall and pumpkin spice latte mixed together and overall is a sensory treat. I will say that if I were to choose between Jetlag and Overtime, I would choose Jetlag since it is that multipurpose product for me. However, Overtime is my go-to face mask right now. Part of the mask is a physical exfoliant and I know some people have found the physical exfoliant part (the apricot seed powder) to be too much however I haven’t had an issue with it. If you have sensitive skin I would try a sample from Sephora before buying. The mask has pumkin that smooths and brightens the complexion and Beta Cerotene that helps cells turnover faster (aka helps with anti-aging and gives you a glow).

I did kind of compare the Complex Beauty “The Godmother” to the Summer Friday’s Overtime mask and even though they are different (the Godmother is more of a chemical exfoliator and Overtime is a physical exfoliator) I would have to choose to go with Complex Beauty’s mask over Summer Friday’s going forward. It just packs more of a punch for me.

As for sleeping mask comparisons, I would go with Jetlag over any other similar ones I’ve tried recently (the Fresh Black Tea Overnight mask mainly).

xx, Chandler
